It appears that a new African nightclub has opened within the the St James flats on the corner of East Dulwich road and Worlingham road !! starting at 3am to ....well after i go to work they play the worst music and lots of gangster rap and heavy angry voices and shrieking this is not the first time and to throw in a visit by 2 police cars to get the party started !! hooo ray .....

does this mean I have become old :( ?

Again- totally inconsiderate behaviour by morons on a work night. What is it with these people who seem to be deliberately provocative in their actions towards neighbours in residential areas- hopefully they will have their sound system confiscated- if they do it again. Nice to see the police turned up though.

I think you will find these incidents are called 'Blues Parties'

Usually a gathering of West Indian men Drinking and buying alcohol from the home ownwer

They were very common in the 70's.

Usually noisy and lasting long into the next day.

Bit unfortunate if you live nearby.

Used to be one next door to one when I was living with mum and dad in our Peckham flat. 70's

Really drove them mad and made them ill with no sleep for days on end.

Fox.

Hold off a couple of weeks, I'd like to check it out. Cheers.

    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first, as they don't actually mention fresh fruit on their website? But apples aren't that perishable. Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
    • Food banks for sure and what about approaching these schools in area that run summer camps - although having said that with health and safety being so strict might not allow it - crazy really.    Can’t remember name of church but was one in Peckham that from memory did a community meal a couple of times a week. Now they for sure would take them and probably Kingswood House as well.
