Hey there,

I have a little 4 month old daughter and due to a busy summer have been pretty lax at mingling with local mummies and daddies. Without causing offence to anyone, am looking to meet some parents who are interested in hanging out and discussing movies, books, fashion, theatre and mindless celebrity gossip not nappies, drool and school waiting lists (although that has a very important place in the world of chat too!). If anyone is interested let me know and hopefully we can get a few like minded peeps together.

Hey Laney,

Ditto to all that you said. My daughter is nearly 5 months and due to work (now on maternity leave, wrong way around I know), had no time to meet other local mamas. None of my friends have babies yet either so looking forward to meeting some parents who know what I'm going through but also want to remember who they were pre baby!

So let me know if you arrange a meet up or anything.

Hi there,

I'm new to ED and just came across this thread and would love to meet up with some local moms to discuss all sorts. I have a five months old baby boy and need a little normality every so often!! Would love get to further details on meeting up if possible.

Hi, I can recommend London Mothers Club... they host all sorts of events for mums including pampering, craft days and nights out... and provide babysitters onsite! http://londonmothersclub.blogspot.co.uk. At the moment they are mostly in Clapham, but looking to expand into East Dulwich soon.

    • Well I did say I stand to be corrected! Fair enough, their website only seemed to list three branches. Perhaps it's a franchise model?  It's known as 'agglomeration' in economics Rookie error.
    • I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
