How do I find out a telephone number for a new property?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to sign up to Sky for TV and broadband in my new flat. They need to know the current landline number in this property to confirm my order. The previous tenants have not yet moved out and are not replying to the letting agent to tell them the number.

Sky have told me to wait until I move in, buy a landline phone and dial a number to find out what it is. This is very unhelpful as there is already a 3 week wait for internet installation and I do not intend on buying/using a landline telephone.

Any one got an idea how I get around this quickly?

Thanks

If you know the name of the current or previous tenants, howabout looking them up in the phone book?

If you don't know the name, try looking up the address on the voting register and them looking them up?

Businesses sometimes buy the telephone directory on disc, and they may be able to do a search on the address if you know someone who has this?

If a card does not come out, then you can look for a skimming device and remove it, ATMs are badly designed imo. They could be recessed to make side sccess impossible for a would be theif. The pin number aspect is a weakness also.
    • It's a criminal offense. CICs can't fundraise on the street - they're a less regulated form of organization and that lighter touch means you can't do certain things until you commit to greater regulation.   If you want to fundraise on the street then you need to become a charity. if they have mislead a shop by stating that they are a charity, they're breaking criminal law. if they're on the pavement, again they are not licensed to do that and are breaking the law.
