EDjules
I am trying to sign up to Sky for TV and broadband in my new flat. They need to know the current landline number in this property to confirm my order. The previous tenants have not yet moved out and are not replying to the letting agent to tell them the number. Sky have told me to wait until I move in, buy a landline phone and dial a number to find out what it is. This is very unhelpful as there is already a 3 week wait for internet installation and I do not intend on buying/using a landline telephone.Any one got an idea how I get around this quickly? Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25885-how-do-i-find-out-a-telephone-number-for-a-new-property/ Share on other sites

KidKruger
why not make the number up, to get the ball rolling and get a request/order raised, then call Sky to change the no saying you made a mistake initially. Huguenot
If you know the name of the current or previous tenants, howabout looking them up in the phone book?If you don't know the name, try looking up the address on the voting register and them looking them up?Businesses sometimes buy the telephone directory on disc, and they may be able to do a search on the address if you know someone who has this? Gidget
Shouldn't the letting agent have their number? Or the landlord via the letting agent? EDjules
Yes Gidget they should but they don't and tenants are replying. I just wondered if there was a way I could find out without physically checking the line. Thanks for your suggestions though, will try them. Huguenot
Maybe ring up BT and ask to get a line installed and ask what the number is? the-e-dealer
Go to their flat with a clipboard. Tell them they may have won a prize and say you just need a few details ....Once they give their details give them an envelope contaning a lottery ticket.
