Hi,

The Crooked Well is in Camberwell, on Grove Lane.

They host mums and bubs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10.30am, so on the 31st there will be the usual coffee, pastries and crumpets with the added delight of bubs in fancy dress (not mums- unless you fancy it)..

Should be fun!

Just show up, hope to see you there!

Hello,

Check out this link for some seriously cute costume ideas: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=baby+halloween&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=WHR0UPSyL4yAhQfWlIHIBw&biw=1152&bih=551&sei=W3R0UKSCC9CT0QW9voGoAg#um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=baby+halloween+costumes&oq=baby+halloween+costumes&gs_l=img.1.0.0l8j0i5l2.77.77.1.1967.1.1.0.0.0.0.114.114.0j1.1.0...0.0...1c.bB_29P9eGGY&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=dbbb159d35099aca&biw=1152&bih=551

I should note though, that don't go to a huge expense or stress to dress up your bub as it's just for fun. The theme is 'fun, fairytale or fearful' to extend the range of costume options...

If we get a large group, we'll move to the upstairs area which is currently being refurbished (looks like it's going to be a fabulous space once complete).

Thanks for your PMs and emails, I'm excited!

Hi!

Things are shaping up for the Halloween Party, and given it is half term we welcome little ones too. Due to limited space, if possible to bring bubs in slings it will reduce buggy-jams.

Here are the details again:

Wednesday 31st October

10.30am ? 12.30pm

@ The Crooked Well

16 Grove Lane, Camberwell SE5 8SY

Enjoy coffee, pastries & crumpets

Fancy dress theme for bubs (not adults): "fun, fairy tale or fearsome?"

Cheers

Kath

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi,

Slight change of plans... we're having it a little earlier 10am - 12pm this Wednesday 31st October as the Crooked Well has a wedding party booked in at lunchtime. So I promised that we would clear out by 12.15pm - (before terrifying the bride with the reality of kids!)

Just a little note as mentioned, if the morning time doesn't suit you/bub, there is another Halloween party in the afternoon, which is also for bigger kids on half term:

4.30pm - 7pm

At Locale (which is near Goose Green park)

58-60 East Dulwich Road

SE22 9AX

More info on their website:

Cheers

** PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE SWAP AND SELL MARKET AT THE CROOKED WELL**

Hi there,

Thanks everyone for coming to the Crooked Well's Halloween party on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see so many colourful bubs in a huge range of costumes.

What we dicovered though is that buggies are very space-occupying and therefore I am concerned about the planned swap and sell market next Tuesday 6th November, as we have had an overwhelming number of people express their interest in participating

So we have decided to limit the number of sellers at the baby clothes swap & sell market , to suitably accommodate everyone.

Could you please email Jen [email protected] if you want to sell.

I just don't want it to be stressful or chaotic for anyone involved. Could you please let others know about this.

In addition, the Crooked Well will have their regular coffee, crumpets and pastries from 10.30am at 16 Grove Lane Camberwell SE5 8SY.

If you miss out on registering but have items you wish to sell immediately, Goodrich School is having a 'Table-top Car Boot Sale':

http://www.friendsofgoodrich.com/

Goodrich School Table Top Sale Saturday 10 November ? 2-4pm

In the playground or inside if wet.

More info: Back for a second year, the Goodrich table top car boot sale! Book yourself a table (?10 each) by speaking to or emailing Roz or Sally (email addresses on their website in the above link) and gather together all your saleable stuff ? toys, bikes, babywear, books, homewares, unwanted Christmas presents, clothes etc. If you only have a few things to sell, get together with a friend and share a table. Or just come along and shop ? and bring all your friends.

If you have items you would like to donate to the homeless, simply drop them down to:

Sternhall Lane Surgery,

12 Sternhall Lane Peckham,

London, SE15 4NT

8am - 6.30pm

(See this thread for more information: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?28,984919,990419#msg-990419)

For those who can, please bring babies in buggies or car seats (there is free parking near by at Morrisons)

best wishes

    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
    • The Dutch are addicted to New Year fireworks and spent €130million this year on them. However,  sales to individuals will be banned as from this year and celebrations will be organised by local and city councils. I have Dutch friends and for them, this can’t come soon enough. However, at least there it’s concentrated  on one night. Here, it’s never ending, any excuse to make a noise is seized upon with gusto. In addition to the annual celebrations, add birthdays, weddings, engagements, divorces, christenings, BBQs, etc etc. I dare say you can funerals to that list as well. Yesterday it started mid-afternoon and just carried on until the early hours. In the past, I’ve been woken up at 4am. Anyyone who doesn’t like it can go hang and you can ignore completely the  effects on people’s animals and wildlife. Don’t hold your breath about anything being done here, however.
