Shaggy
For various reasons I'm going to have to drive to work tomorrow morning. My TomTom (with traffic warnings) says it'll take about 35 mins to go from Dulwich Library to the Gherkin. Does that sound right? Sounds a bit short to me. Vickster
I used to drive from Underhill Road to Silk Street (nr Moorgate) when I was very heavily pregnant, and it took between 45 mins to 1 hour leaving at 8am. Lowlander
I go up to Hackney every so often, takes around 35 - 45 minutes to get to Liverpool Street if I leave at 0630.That's straight up through Camberwell / Walworth Road / Tower Bridge. Same times going over London Bridge too.It will take longer if you leave later and less time if you leave earlier. Jeremy
35 mins sounds very attainable earlier in the morning. As Vickster says, travelling at peak time will take a lot longer. Shaggy
That's very helpful. Thanks. I think I'll leave at 7.30 to ensure I'm in for 8.45. Any later is often dire. Get there early, have a coffee and breakfast, read the paper. SCSB79
Traffic going over tower bridge can be a nightmare. I've sat on a bus a few times for ages going across there. I'd leave closer to 7-7.15am if I were you just to be on the safe side. Jeremy
Yeah, when I said that it would be attainable earlier in the morning, I meant quite a bit earlier than 7:30. Everything will already be completely chocca before 8. Lowlander
To get there for 0845 I'd allow an hour and a half. Seriously. ratty
I drive to Whitechapel every morning, through tower hill. Takes about 40 mins. Finding parking may take time though!
