Hi all,

We have a beautiful one bedroom apartment for rent on Chadwick Road near Bellenden Road.

6 month+ tenancy, ?1295 per month. Available 31st Oct 2020. We have just reduced the price as it's a quiet market at the moment. Looking for some lovely people to make our flat their new home!

Oak floors, newly decorated, light and bright.

Please see details here (please note the price drop may not be updated online yet):

Interesting offer but why you do not consider people on benefits up the point you feel the need to specify in the advert "no exceptions" as you wanted to remark an ideological choice? it is illegal in this Country to refuse tenants only because they are on Universal Credit! and if I may add a personal note in a pandemic it may even be terribly short sighted because from a person eligible for housing benefits you can always claim the rent to be paid directly to you whereas it is not so easy to get money from somebody whose company goes bust and becomes insolvent in a couple of weeks for instance (and in a pandemic you may not be even able to evict the tenant with rent arrears).

I wish you luck by the way, you have already reduced the price. Take care.

    • Callout for help from any local experts here. Looking to find out more about the history of the property on the corner of Whateley Road and Ulverscroft road (with the green glazed bricks). Now a residential property, i'm told it was a bottle shop in days gone (the house was built around 1900) by and i'd like to learn more about the history of the business that was once here - name, photos, anything at all really! Seems to be very little from open source research so i'm hoping anyone with history in the area can provide any insight!  Starting here before i contact Southwark Archives or similar orgs to get any information and pictures (any advice here also would be welcome). Thank you
    • Portable ramps are available for businesses to use in this sort of situation, aren't they? I don't know whether one would be suitable for use here, or whether they have the space to store one. Lots of people have  permanent or temporary disabilities which mean they have to use crutches or a wheelchair.
