This could go in the Wanted section but I thought it may be more of a discussion.

I'm one of those whose musical work has dried up and I'm finding it hard to see where things will go in the future.

I am early 50s have been doing this since teenage years. Several big label albums under my belt as an artist but very interested in sound art/ambient/electronic/experimental too.

Guitar is my main instrument and I'm looking for a person who is fun and sympatico and professional to go forward as a team doing something that will earn money at some point. Since this is unlikely to be performance, I'm thinking library and other things.

Anyone compatible accepted. Are you interested - do you know someone?

Cheers!

Hi, mlteenie.

Yes, I am very interested. In fact I've only just joined this forum in the hope that I might find like-minded musicians and/or producers looking to try something new.

I'm happy to PM you but I'm also curious as to whether there are any any others who might like to join in...but I'm easy either way.

I too am primarily a guitarist in my 50's, though for the past 30 years I've focused more on the studio and less on performance, and I too had been ticking along very nicely up until 6 months ago when...oh well, we all know don't we?

It seems to me that now might be the perfect time to take a random left turn and see where it takes me. I still have some remnants of an active imagination and it might be fun to see what fresh trouble it can get me into.

Now, I have to be honest and say that the "professional/earn money" side of your post wouldn't be the first thing I'd be looking for, initially. Not that I'd turn my nose up, but I suppose I've always been more about making music than making money from music.

That said, I'd be happy to discuss this further with you.

    • There are "plans" to build more reservoirs, with physical work yet to be started, with the first hoped to be completed by 2036, and a second by 2040, then time is needed for them to fill so add at least another 12 months on. However, if the 1.5 million homes are built by 2028, each averaging 2 people occupying them.(some will be more, some will be less) then thats 3 million people showering, bathing and using water.  Therefore there is a massive demand that will strain our current inferstructure between 2028 and 2037 (nearly ten years) plus all those homes will need electricity, as the ambition is to phase gas usage out, which will take just as much time to reinforce the network to cover, let alone add in the ability to cope with green production electricity that needs to be moved from wind and solar farms to where it is most needed.  Therefore, is the current plan to build more homes, regardless of where they are,  potentially going to have serious ramifications on already creaking networks ?

    • Cheers for that. Surprising to see it's over 25 years since it closed.
