Another recommendation for Carl. I had some wobbly fence panels and thought I might need to replace the whole thing but Carl worked out a way of stabilising the posts - a much cheaper and quicker solution! Carl communicated brilliantly throughout, worked efficiently and left the garden in a tidy state at the end. Really happy with the results and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I can highly recommend Carl and his team. Excellent work (fence replacement and rubbish removal) carried out by really nice people whom one can simply trust to get on with it.

There was a hiccup (caused by me, and not Carl) resulting in rework and waiting for new panels. Carl was very gracious in handling this and the need to shift his schedule in order to accomodate.

Carl just finished some work for me replacing a fence and I highly recommend him. The work was more complicated than it first seemed due to a neighbour’s garden office causing problems but he did a great job in explaining everything to me and sorting it quickly.

Really straightforward, perfect work and very friendly and professional.

Good value too.

Carl and team did an amazing job for us this week building a brand new feather edged fence. They promptly removed the old one and also installed and advised on our new gate. They are friendly, professional and take pride in their work providing attention to detail. The manufacturer of our gate could do with taking a leaf out of their book. They advised on some poor workmanship and rectified some issues for us. We appreciated having them around and the consideration they paid to our neighbours. Our dog loved them too. We won’t hesitate to call on Carl and team in the future.

Carl did a great job in putting up new fences on all three sides of my garden and replacing the turf with shingle. Throughout he was knowledgeable and offered his advice on what best course of action would be. I would highly recommend Carl and would definitely go back to him in the future for any garden needs. We initially called in Carl to replace a small area of fence along our garden wall. Carl came out to see us within a couple of days of our call, while his quote was priced really well. Our fence was taken care of quickly and efficiently – and we were really impressed with his work.

Following this, we brought Carl back to landscape our very overgrown and unruly garden. Landscaping can be expensive, but Carl was able to make the most of our budget to great effect. Carl and his colleague, Andy, cleared our garden, removed trees, cut back bushes and rotavated the soil before laying fresh turf and building a patio. Our garden has been transformed and we couldn't be happier. Communication was clear and easy at all stages of the project. Thanks again Carl and team!

I completely echo what Alexia has said.

We found Carl via this thread. Our garden was in a state that defeated us. I contacted Carl and he came straight back to me. The work was done in phases, each costed and reasonable. Carl and his team carried out the work they said they would, when they said they would do it meaning we could plan our lives around the work. Every time Carl came to work on the garden he always left everything very neat. (our neighbours commented on how he worked causing no disturbances).

The work has now finished and our garden is amazing. We gave him some challenges but nothing was ever too much trouble. We had some ideas for the garden, Carl was able to realise these and add details from his own expertise. All of these were good and improved the garden. We have a lovely new fence he made to fit an awkward sized gap. He also offers ongoing maintenance.

Very highly recommended. He also really cares about getting a good job done making sure you are happy with the result.

His contact number is on an earlier post on this thread.

Highly recommend Carl and team. They did a great job and were really friendly.  I had fencing panels and posts which came down and were blocking the entrance to my neighbours garden. Carl was super responsive and managed to squeeze me to replace them. Left the place spotless. Booked him already for my next job.

Another recommendation for Carl, whom I recommended to my customers many times already. Jobs well done, decent prices; nice, friendly guy overall.

I have witnessed few of his jobs being on site at the time and it all looks great. Thumbs up 👍

    • Great shout. They do need the extra fat when it’s winter, but don’t use fat balls from April as they are dangerous for nestlings as the babies can choke on lumps of the fat. When it gets milder switch to suet pellets as they are harder and don’t melt (the grease is bad for feathers.
    • Rather alarmist. There is unlikely to be snow this week, but even if there is that is natural and wildlife adjust accordingly. There are fewer insects to eat due to what humans have done to the planet over the decades.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_in_insect_populations  In particular: Habitat Loss and Fragmentation: Agricultural Chemicals: Climate Change: Pollution: Invasive Species: There is even a case for not feeding birds due to the spread of disease through feeders, greenfinch population was decimated.   https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/jan/24/should-we-stop-feeding-birds-what-happens-if-we-do-and-does-it-spread-disease   I do feed the birds but keeping a watching eye on the evidence.   And I try to grow insect and bird friendly plants including attempts at a meadow.   There could also be an argument for not keeping cats as these may decimate bird populations.   https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/aug/14/cats-kill-birds-wildlife-keep-indoors   You will need squirrel proof feeders and even then you may have the starlings and green squwaky things eating most of the food left out for small birds.
    • Apparently this year due to the weather there are fewer insects for the birds to eat. So please if you don’t usually buy fat balls & seeds to put out (in safe places to avoid the cats ) a plentiful supply . They really need it this year, especially with snow forecast later this week.    Thankyou
