I am not sure if it only me, but the rubbish collectors and recycling collectors seem to leave my entrance area in an absolute state: bins left in the way, half my recycling on the floor.

I thought it was a one off, but it happens a lot. I saw trails of rubbish all over the road the other day.

I find it quite offensive - we try and do our bit and they end up leaving our recycling in the road!

When I quizzed the guy the other day he just replied, 'Ain't my problem mate, got too many houses to do'. Great!

Sean,

I'd ring the 7525 2000 number, report it and get a reference number. Then I'd write a letter to the head of recycling services or streets or whatever it is called (it'll be on the website) and ask how this will be avoided in the future. Letters work much better than emails or phone calls. Tell the recycling head that you are sending a copy to your ward councillor and Tessa Jowell. Nero

    • Found debit card on Colyton Road - around 5:30pm. PM with your name and the last 4 digits of the card number if you think it might be yours.  Reported to the bank who asked me to shred it. If you are the owner, they'll send a new one in the post
    • Yet to use it for a big parcel, but worth a try!
    • This guy was found running loose on the common, up at the Colyton Road end. He was being quite over zealous with other dogs, causing a bit of mayhem. No collar, we think he might be a pup who's escaped. If he's yours, PM me and I can put you in touch with a kind young couple who got a lead on him and have put shout-outs on the local dog whatsapp groups.  If you are the parents of any of the young lads in school uniform, who were helping me as I tried to stop a fight kicking off between this chap and my dog, please tell your sons thank you. I really thought it was going to get nasty and I didn't get the chance to thank the boys - particularly the blonde one - who were helping me. He was being very brave as I crumbled.    The dog's owner has now been found. But hopefully the parents of the young lads will see this post.
