  1. No, you can ask for them to be removed. If they are not, call trading standards. Or, if you actually have better thing to do, thrown them away. Easy.
  2. They are actually allowed to leave them up for 2 weeks post completion, no more.
  3. I agree with this - much less fatty and really tasty!
  4. I had a guy come up to me asking for ?5 because his truck had been clamped and he couldn't get home. He said he had losth is wallet and phone. I offered him the use of my phone and he said no. Two weeks later he stopped me on L Lane and asked the same thing. When I told him I remembered him and he had asked me the same thing a few weeks before, he soon vanished!
  5. I know agents do this. The problem is when leaflets are not pushed in properly - an open invitation to theives as it pretty much shows you are not at home!
  6. I used to rent in that building and that was half the reason I left. The managing agents are totally idiotic. You should claim back from them for the hassle of having to buy bottled water and not being able to shower when you want!
  7. 'photographers' - hardly. These are the pond life who often do anything for a photo! I once saw them put a camera UNDERNEATH a very well know soap actress' skirt outside a club in London. Classy.
  8. ----The reason that there are lollipop men standing at pedestrian crossings (I'm speaking as a parent of two small children) is because so many drivers during rush hour and other times ignore the crossings and speed through them.--- I'm sorry, I don't think anyone in their right mind would drive through a crossing when a child is in close proximity. If they did this, having someone standing there with a stick to stop them is hardly going to act as a deterrent to a madman like that is it? I think it is more the case that the lollipop men often look as if they are not doing anything that is getting up the noses of many.
  9. I just fail to see the point. Where I work they have a man who stands in the middle of the road when the lights are red and the green man on - what sick person would drive when it is red and kids are crossing?!
  10. They are not doing much good when standing there chatting - hardly on the ball!
  11. BB100 - That is terrible. Is she ok?
  12. If they pop over just offer them a brew whilst you finish ya washing!
  13. I put a post on her a while back about Npower. She stood with her foot in the door telling me if I sign I will have '?100 in my back pocket to spend'. The cheeky c*w even asked me to sign something, claiming to was 'to allow her to check my readings'. It was clearly a contract. To get her to go away I asked her to come back in one hour when my housemates were back. Clever girl came back two hours later, saw me in the lounge having a glass of wine, and rang the bell for a good 5 mins!
  14. helsbells - This is funny as I have been given the same story before and I work in Balham! A man has stopped me twice asking for money as he said he had been clamped. It may well be a different person but you never know! The second time I reminded him that he had spun me the yarn before and he actually became quite nasty, so beware!
  15. This, sadly, reminds me of my horrible neighbours who complained about noise. Once was NY eve, and the other time was 23rd Dec. The noise went on until 1.30am, hardly Motley Crue!
  16. I kind of thought the point of a discussion forum was free discussion, otherwise the pages on here would be rather empty.
  17. Posted by: pk September 20, 03:39PM why is it necessary to try to publicly embarrass and insult the mother in question? I think this is a little unfair! If no one ever says anything then I suppose it will continue going on. I was outside Goose Green playground the other day and saw a kid throw his empty bag of crisps and chocolate wrapper on the floor. I asked him to pick it up and I can't even repeat the language used. Sometimes people just need a light reminder!
  18. No, but what I mean is it is an area of London - fags end in the gutter are par for the course! I honestly doubt someone will decide against a house which ticks every box for them because the drain has dog ends in it! Perspective!
  19. Hi Sean - I agree, tidy houses are nice to sell, but a few fags ends will probably not put off a serious buyer.
