For my road, a couple of the residents took the initiative of setting up a WhatsApp group and then dropping a note through the door of every house in the road giving the details and inviting them to join.

Not everybody did, but they had the opportunity to.

People moving into the road since then were also contacted.

So if nobody has done that in Friern Road, I guess you could always start a group yourself?

I've found ours very useful for sharing information.

Yes there is a very active WhatsApp group for Friern Road - if you would like to send me (via DM) your name and phone number, I'll gladly add you. Maybe send me your house number too (if you wish of course) so I can introduce you properly to your neighbours as it's a very long road! Ian

I think it relates to the fact that the article is regarding a Friern Road resident who has been jailed for handbag theft after being traced by CCTV.

Was this covered in your Whatsapp group? If not, why not?

Gail's would have opened much sooner as they were lined up and able to offer the landlord much higher rents. Brickhouse was a local favourite
