Ok - we have a 3/4 bedroomed terrace and I pay ?25/month electricity all year round and about ?150/quarter gas in winter and ?50 in summer but not had bills since the gas went up. However we are both out during the day during the week and tend to have heating on in the whole house for 1 hour in the morning and 3 in the evening and other than that, like other suggestions we heat the room we are in.

Obviously that is not a solution with a small baby but gives you some idea of comparison.

mmm since I last posted just got quarterly bill from npower and it is ?250!! about ?100 more than the equivalent quarter last year! I was expecting it to be higher (weren't some areas going to get a 25% hike in prices?) but I am still shocked it is over ?200.

I also noticed that the important information on the bill such as the meter reading etc was now in very very small writing and far harder to understand!

    • Would this not be a complaint better aimed at the council? Isn't it an anti social behaviour issue?  I think of myself as pretty live-and-let-live and feel like a miserable cow for saying this, but I do think I might complain. Personally I love the sound of fireworks but our dog is under the table, shaking like a leaf night after night and collapses in the street when he hears the noise.  I'm worried his heart'll give out.
    • The lower / no bang noise fireworks sound great.    Is there anywhere local selling those?
    • This petition to reduce the noise of fireworks is currently going through Parliament https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/738192
    • Have you complained to the solicitor directly and did they respond within the 8 weeks they have under their code of conduct - I presume they have and this is why you have escalated further to the SRA? If he doesn't respond in a timely fashion per the SRA code of conduct then I am sure they will need to take action.
