I used Lordship Lane carpets when we first moved here and they did a good job but a bit expensive. Next job we went elsewhere and ended up with a squared pattern lino not squaring up and looking awful, but it was cheaper. Last job- which was our stairs- we went back to Lordship Lane carpets and very pleased with job. It wasnt the cheapest quote but then again we only had to have it done once so it probably was.

For sure *Bob*

I wonder if St Bennison kneels on a LSL carpet tile, when fiddling with his pipes.

And does Bennison generally do old boilers ? I mean, I know "whatshername" had him round, but maybe that's a one off service he gave her.

She certainly seems happy.

I am sure Sue must a sense of humour unless its true.

I do have a sense of humour - which does not include this kind of "humour", either about myself or anybody else who is named in person.

I strongly object to being the butt of an offensive personal comment which also involves a local tradesperson.

You should be ashamed of yourself, AC, particularly as you have met me off the forum.

And could the people who have quoted it also delete that part of their post please, thanks.

Intersting that men refer to such outwardly masculine items such as a car or boiler in the female context...

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
