Saw this in Southwark Life - rent a tree and then it is collected and aken away to carry on growing after Christmas.

They are, however, already out of stock. But you can join waiting list, or mailing list for 2021 advance notice.

Yes, replantable trees, either to buy or hire seem to make great sense in all manner of ways. If you were in raptures when you heard nature and were able to enjoy it more in the spring during the first wave and the lockdown then think of reducing your consumption over Xmas - it's not that hard. Just because it has been tough it doesn't mean we should splash out and waste food and buy stuff we don't need.

Should note if you're going for the real tree in pot option, its super important to keep a vigilant eye on the soil and not letting it dry out. Other than that there very easy to look after and to plant out in the garden after :)

This is a brilliant idea!

    • There are moves to place Thames Water into a SAR (Special Administration Regime) effectively renationalising it and wiping out its debt.  But then what ?  There is also rumours of lookmg for a new owner, including a Chinese backed group that already owns Northumbrian water and UK power.  Is that a controversial move as it places another of our inferstructural assets in foreign hands?  Should it be renationalised and run as a not for profit government organisation, placing investment and improvements before  shareholders? This in itself would adversely impact pension funds who have invested in utilities.  Its fairly obvious that Thames Water needs rescuing or restructure but what is the optimum and correct path to take ?
