Following on from how brilliant Melbourne Grove was for Halloween this year, are there plans for any streets to go the extra mile with Christmas lights? It would genuinely be a highlight for me and my baby - don't recommend having a baby in lockdown and don't recommend having a baby during a pandemic! A nice buggy walk with some festive lights to coo at would cheer us both right up. And nice and Covid safe too ☺️

Hi

The stores nn Lordship lane and Northcross Rd will be lighting up the trees along the lane and Rd, with Xmas lights. We are organising a social distance xmas event, in place of the cancelled Xmas cracker. It will be on the 12th of December. Each store have organised an in store event for the ED community. We will post further details of the event on here nearer the time.

Take care

Tempted to turn up on Christmas eve with my housemates, nice and drunk, with lots of cans of lager and portable speakers- blast out some drum & bass remixes of Christmas tunes.

Funny, that's just the sort of thing Steven Taylor would say.

Enjoy a festive tipple or brunch to support local businesses while your kids have fun at the Yeeha! Grotto. Book your little ones to come to our ?The Snowman & The Snowdog? grotto with fluffy snow, Xmas disco, and festive kids films, so you can finish your Christmas shopping along our SE22 ?Mile of Smiles? - a local small business treasure hunt on Grove Vale, Melbourne Grove, Northcross Road and Lordship Lane.

Children and adults get goodie bags with gifts from your local independent retailers too!

If memory serves, Shrieker wasn't cloning him/herself at exactly the same time. But then my memory is rubbish so I may be wrong :))

Edited to add: I love the sound of the Christmas streets, thanks to all involved!

(and edited again to remove a typo .....)

    • Yes, should have given up by now but haven’t. Was waiting for my train yesterday and went into WHS on platform to buy a pack of fags. Almost feel to the floor when guy quoted me £28.00 for a packet of Silk Cut purple. Was a long day for me and thought I had totally misheard him! Asked again, only to be told that that was the price whuch is well over the odds..when I queried it as have bought, admittedly end of last year was told “ this is what management charges”. Surely this can’t be right…fags stayed in WHS paws while I bought some in Herne Hill at normal price. Still reeling over shock…..
    • I use the one in peckham where lidles is they are really good if you need somewhere closer
    • Going to be really inconvenient for folk to go that way as has been stated.. why not just move to Camberwell which I would assume is abit nearer and better travelling wise or have vets in both places from Lordship Lane Branch.. Must have been massive flood if going to take two months to dry out, electrical tests to make sure all good… From upstairs? Or where?
    • @selector73 Thanks!  Because we want him to be treated by the vets that know him we will have to get to the New X branch because thats where the team are based until LL reopens. Thank you again 🙏
