I often walk to Brockwell Park from Dulwich, excellent suggestion! I'd be up for it

I'm part of this (Lewisham)

PM me if you would like to get involved. There is a lovely walk in Wells Park. Others are looking at Waterlink Way. I do some other walks - Dulwich Park, the Rye, One Tree Hill, The various cemeteries, Ruskin park and more. There is now a 9am walk meeting at Honor Oak Station.

Numbers have dropped off due to pandemic, I did some Zoom walks which were poorly attended as those they were targeted at probably aren't always computer savvy.

Just get together with a few friends and head off.

I meet some chums one night each week for a decent walk and catch-up.

Last week was ED to Westminster to Southbank to London Bridge to ED. 11.3 miles apparently.

No need for pubs !!

ETA: And night-time is much MUCH quieter.

Not everyone can do this, either lack of opportunity of different circumstances.

I agree about night time walking, beginning to prefer it now!

Of course.

Just suggesting for those who can get out with friends, obviously the distance was a bit extreme too !

    • I give away a lot of cuttings but always short of the above, any ideas please?
    • Ash tree branch. Before speculating as to cause and whether it was deliberate or not, it’s worth remembering that there is ash dieback around. Also tree branches fall off without warning, especially if there’s internal rot or disease which is not outwardly apparent. And yes, there are regular checks done on the health of the trees in the Wood.
    • Dulwich folk well particularly ED folk have more money than certainly me - £4.00 for bread and butter? That is outrageous and I certainly would not pay £30 for an organic chicken - weird one is pate and runner beans combo. Don’t think butcher on Lordship Lane charges that but each to their own - live in Devon now and no way is an organic chicken that price!!
    • I was sitting on the park bench yesterday opposite north Dulwich station and found an Apple Watch hanging off the corner. I have brought it home and charged it hoping that someone might use ‘find my’ to locate it. Equally happy to be contacted this way to return it to the rightful lender / they just need to say what colour/kind of strap it has. If you can think of a better way to return it / find its owner then please advise. And/or feel free to share on other local fora.
