Lynne
Has anyone else had trouble with the Christmas post? Have just been told about a card + papers that I sent from Lordship Lane. When recieved it had obviously been opened and the contents taken, and, even odder, an entirely different set of papers enclosed. My elderly friend was very surprised and worried to recieve a summons addressed to someone completely differentLynne Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27333-post/ Share on other sites
KalamityKel
This is not necessarily ED related. The journey of a letter/parcel is a long one. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27333-post/#findComment-600389 Share on other sites
Lu
A birthday card sent to me from Coventry took over a week to arrive and when it finally got here, someone had slit it open carefully along the top and then resealed it with sellotape. We have no idea why it was opened as there was nothing inside or any kind of embossing or badge on the card which would make anyone think there was.I imagine it's impossible to know where in the delivery process it happened. Also it could have been delivered to the wrong house, someone opened it and then put it back in the post box or through the door. SebsC
Hi. We live in Upland Road and have just this minute got our post. Three Christmas cards and all three very carefully slit open at the bottom. We presume nothing taken but don't know for sure. Who should we contact to make aware? Huguenot
I probably would take very nice photos and Facebook them if you wanted a general solution.Contacting the local office would get a union based claim that if we employed Christmas staff all year round on twice the salary with 60 days holiday this wouldn't occur.Neither practical nor affordable for the price of a first class stamp. Lynne
I told the Post Office in LL and they were very sympathetic and even lent me their phone to contact Customer Services. When I finally got through they were completely useless. Didn't want to know. Told me it had to be the recipient who complained not the sender. Tried their website - useless agianLynne Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27333-post/#findComment-600845 Share on other sites

All the envelopes were soggy and frayed and had come apart along the bottom edge,so that they were very nearly open. Could that be what had happened to your post SebsC?
