Jules-and-Boo
Vegetable curry is easy, Lidl sell veg at a good price and they are fresh. In fact anything vegetarian is cheap: soup,curry,chilli.....Have you tried making pasties or pies? We had veg rice (Lidl 49p) fried with onion, kale and gammon for lunch....that was really nice and took five minutes. We also buy a jar of miso paste and make ramen really quickly and easily, adding different things. KidKruger
If you want veggie and don?t mind Indian food, I recommend this fine lady. She doesn?t use garlic or onion (or possibly other ingredients) due to her particular branch of Hinduism, but you can fix that yourself, as I do.https://www.manjulaskitchen.com/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/273881-anyone-recommend-cheap-healthy-meals/#findComment-1479993 Share on other sites

Alan Medic
Sometimes if I'm looking to use up stuff, I just google recipes for whatever it is I've got. Usually, I just pick two items to see what comes up. Steven Taylor
If you want really cheap, the security in M&S is really lax- you can easily nick whatever you please from there. The only partial exception is stuff like steaks and pricey booze, which have security tags attached- although normally its just some old woman standing by the exit door (security guard at the entrance) so you can tell her to get lost if the alarm goes off and stroll on out. exdulwicher
This guy is very good:https://www.youtube.com/c/NatsWhatIReckon/videosNat's What I Reckon,. Australian comedian who turned his hand to cooking during lockdown and it went sort of viral over in Australia but he's got a decent following worldwide now. Warning - some of his videos are very sweary, not really one to have on if your kids are helping in the kitchen! He's not exactly Jamie Oliver! However, the stuff he makes is very good and (generally) pretty healthy. Stuff like chilli con carne (veggie versions also available), you can just make in bulk, split it into freezer bags and freeze until needed. katesonic
Spoonfull of tahini added to a standard salad dressing makes a great vegan substitute for Ceasar dressing...Leftover 'stale' bread for croutons... baked with olive oil and as much garlic as you can handle.Iceberg lettuce...Chicken leftovers or protein substitute fried with a bit of garlic chillie etc...Hey Presto! Ceasar salad!!!What's not to like?K....Caesar rose to become one of the most powerful politicians in the Roman Republic through a string of military victories in the Gallic Wars, completed by 51 BC, which greatly extended Roman territory. During this time he both invaded Britain and built a bridge across the Rhine river. These achievements and the support of his veteran army threatened to eclipse the standing of Pompey, who had realigned himself with the Senate after the death of Crassus in 53 BC. With the Gallic Wars concluded, the Senate ordered Caesar to step down from his military command and return to Rome. Leaving his command in Gaul would mean losing his immunity to criminal prosecution by his enemies; knowing this, Caesar openly defied the Senate's authority by crossing the Rubicon and marching towards Rome at the head of an army...Happening now...Great way to teach the kids over dinner...Kind RegardsK.
