Eurovision? Always was and always will be a complete and utter waste of time and space. Pile of shite and no mistake, marginally less irritating than reality shows and x-factor type "talent" shows (why they call them talent shows is beyond me, most of the clowns on these shows are completely devoid of any).

Is anyone else planning to celebrate this spectacle of high camp with a Eurovision party or is it just me?

I need advice on Eastern European treats (I like to have representative food and drink from every country in the competition but am at a loss for ukraine for instance)

am I actually the world's biggest loser?

Me, obviously.

Though I feel selecting 'Andy the bin man' was a poor move. He's like Lighthouse Family but without the rock-and-roll wow factor. And his song is akin to drinking lukewarm tea at Gatwick after your flight's been delayed.

We should have gone with Simona Wotsit. She would have been in with a half-decent chance.

Not at all RosieH - this is the first year in a long time I have not hosted a Eurovision party.... usually ours included a shrine to Terry Wogan and terrible drinking games where everyone gets a country to represent and top marks would mean downing a drink ... the result being some terrible drunken memories ....

Great fun though!

    • BRILLIANT.  Sorry, I whispered, "brilliant"!
    • I wonder if there is a compromise in that all those attending wear headphones with a special code so they can bluetooth with a central device that streams the music to them, so residents do not have to hear it? there are 'silent' club events I believe. It would not mitigate the weeks of build and deconstruction but is there a case to be made that if you want the privilege of attending this event outside and 'nestled' in the park then the compromise is to have it on phones. This way you show you care for the nesting birds and the environment.
    • Big shout-out to the  lovely ladies at Dolled Up beauty parlour, at 209 Lordship Lane, who resolved a courier mis-delivery problem for me. These stunning ladies have  warm hearts and a fantastic  sense of humour, combined with a great community spirit. I wish them well in their new business at 209 Lordship Lane.
    • Cardtronics do Londis too, so that could be where he went. Worth asking the Police to source CCTV from there and the ATM itself.
