Covid vaccination

I agree Peckhampam though i do wonder if one push of the button may be overloading the system as the text from my GP surgery took three days to arrive. By the time I?d received it, I?d also heard from Guy?s and had made a booking with them. On one hand going to TJ would have been more convenient, on the other I?m looking forward to escaping East Dulwich for a few hours.

I also had a jab at the Tessa Jowell yesterday afternoon - very well organised and safe and the lapsed time to get through was about 45 minutes. The stewards were very good and helpful and I'm glad that they have been redefined (today I think) as front-line NHS workers and will be eligible for jabs now. They did collect probably more information than they needed, but that shouldn't be an issue for the 2nd jab as few things will have changed (just your current state of health, perhaps, and whether you've had any other recent vaccinations). Much more time costly in terms of data collection than the seasonal flu jab, but of course they know far less about the Covid jabs and what impact they might have.

Just had it in Kings, really well organised as you go through the process. It took under 2 hours, but you don?t feel the time. The experience in terms of what was been done during the time is similar to what everyone else has said!

Just wondering how long people have to wait for their second jab of the Pfizer vaccine?

In Tessa Jowel they are booking people back for the Astra Zeneca after 11 weeks. I'm guessing that's probably the routine for both, although different centres may be operating differently. My daughter, a health worker is waiting 12 weeks for her next Pfizer from the centre she had the first one.

I assumed my next appointment was 12 weeks, but it?s 10 - just added the weeks up! This is for Pfizer.

Just had my first jab and they didn't tell me. Imagine a text/call/letter will come through in 11 or 12 weeks to arrange jab two.

Don't ask for the Novichok Sputnik Dynamo edition, by the way. They haven't got any and apparently it's not funny either.

Interestingly I've finally had the general NHS letter to people in my Tier - rather late in the day as my GP, and Kings, both also got in touch earlier. But the NHS asks you to book both vaccination slots - there's a web site to do it on, it seems (I didn't check). Presumably they set a limit for how long (and how short) you must wait between jabs.

Everyone after their jab had to make a further booking for the follow up jab.

After the jab we were directed to the receptionist who made the next booking and wrote it down on the card given.

Hi Sue,

Unfortunately joined-up admin has been sacrificed (rightly imo) in order to vaccinate people ASAP.

I work for a team at KCH that has many, many CEV patients. We know that primary care roll out is patchy - not GPs? fault, just uneven distribution. But we want to get our vulnerable patients done to try and keep them safe. We have given a list of our CEV patients to the hospital so many are booked into the dental unit that way. But many miss that call, or are unsure and want to discuss with us (their specialist team), or find it difficult to get to the hospital, so we are also doing some specific small sessions in the community just for our patients.

The screening questions for all the vaccines include asking if you have had one previously, or indeed any other vaccine in the last week, so we hope multiple vaccinations don?t happen.

But getting multiple contacts is better than some people missing out, we think. Agree it isn?t ideal, but hopefully helps a few more people get done.

The vaccine teams are amazing...the logistics are complicated. There are many people working in full time healthcare roles, who volunteer for free on their days off. I don?t think we will ever be able to thank NHS workers enough.

I have my doubts about HSJ Healthcare. Ultimately they are a limited company (Wilmington Healthcare Limited" and their website doesn't really give much insight into who they really are or what their real purpose in life is. Lots of jargon and they comes across as a lobbying group. Perhaps someone could provide more information

Apparently that has happened in other geographical areas as well.

Sometimes it was said it was because the priority groups had all been vaccinated, but in other cases it was apparently due to errors.

Eureka! My family member aged 87 finally had their first vaccination today after a lot of phone calls to GP etc.

There are still a lot of over 80s that have not had the vaccine for one reason or another so please be patient everyone and don't worry about what the name of the vaccine is!

I had the same TEXT a few days ago and had my First Vaccine today at Guys..

My next vaccine booked for 23rd of April.

Very organised I arrived an hour early due not knowing where exactly to go.

Waited 20 mins to give my details and a further 20-30 mins to get my Jab.

was asked to wait 15 min before leaving,

Guys Atrium 1 are doing 500 vaccinations a day.. Pfizer

Based on the location, 99% certain it will be Astra Zeneca

They may give either, we had AZ but an earlier poster had Pfizer. I'm guessing AZ is most likely for a first vaccine as Pfizer stocks will be being prioritised on 2nd vaccine patients, as there may be shortages.
