SingingWilks
Happy New Year everyone. Every year on here there's mention of a place people go to on NYE that's up a hill, has great views over the centre and you can see the fireworks, and has a great atmosphere! My use of the search function has proved fruitless so I wondered if you kind people had any idea of where I'm talking about. I think it's somewhere like Dawson's Heights or One Tree Hill (but equally could be any of the other great viewing points we're lucky enough to have around this area) but don't want to turn up at one and the celebrations are at the other! Many thanks. randombloke
I think it's Dawson's Hill underneath the Dawson Heights estate on Overhill Road but I may be wrong. Living nearby I can attest that you do get great views of the fireworks without having to fight your way through thousands of revellers. uncleglen
I'm sure we went up Langton Rise(?) on Millenium night and could see the river. Lots of other people were there too. jctg
Top of Nunhead reservoir via Brockley Footpath through the hole in the fence. Great views over London. katanita
Have seen in the New Year from the top of Canonbie Road a few times, great views, usually a reasonable crowd. Could be that's the place you mean. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27552-nye-up-a-hill-with-views/#findComment-603627 Share on other sites
