Front exterior door - any good companies in SE that sell them

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience with buying a front entrance door? Where should we look and get good value for money? I hear the London Door Company is very expensive so any advice appreciated. Any local companies in the area that sell good solid wooden doors with glazing panels?

We're currently looking for similar advice - I also heard the London Door Company is expensive (?3,000 all in I've been told!). Someone mentioned F&E joinery in West Dulwich were very good and reasonable. Any experiences anyone?

Dawes for doors (Jim Dawes in sydenham) does pretty decent doors, reclaimed mostly. We bought our door from him and had the glazing done by the glazers on shawbury (or Bawdale??) I wouldn't recommend Jim to fit it though, we had a bit of a nightmare with that/him :-\

I got mine from Jim in Sydenham too - very reasonable and as they're reclaimed you can find something a bit different.

My carpenter fitted the door - a straightforward job for him and it also meant he could also make adjustments to size if it wasn't a perfect fit.
