Are you a new or soon-to-be mum living in South East London or in close proximity?

Would you like some affordable and flexible hands on support with your new baby for a few hours a week, including weekends?

Do you need someone to help you care for your new baby in those early days whilst you take some time to rest and recover following the birth of your baby?

Great news! I CAN HELP! 🙌🌈

💤 Apart from being a baby & toddler sleep consultant 😴 I have been working as a Newborn Care Specialist for the past 25 years. I provide very special niche service devoted to caring for newborns 👶 and supporting new parents. I can pop in and provide an extra pair of hands on an ad-hoc, short term basis or for a longer term depending on your requirements.

What is a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) and what can they help with?

👉 A highly & specially trained individual who focuses on the complete care of infants in their first 3-4 months of life.

👉 Have extensive training that involves optimal sleep habits for newborns, caring for twins/multiples, helping to promote best practices when it comes to the health & safety of a newborn.

👉 Can generally be hired to care for newborns 7 days a week, during the day, overnight or around the clock & are able to work independently with minimal guidance from parents.

👉 Often have extensive knowledge in caring for multiples or premature babies, are well skilled in establishing good eating & sleeping habits to set the optimal stage for sleep conditioning, with the goal of getting the newborn to sleep through the night & take age appropriate naps as soon as it?s healthy & appropriate for that individual infant.

👉 Are well skilled in supporting family values & understands the importance of a baby having healthy, educated & empowered parents.

👉 Will understand the value of & support a breastfeeding/chestfeeding mum, will equally understand & support without judgment a mum who chooses to formula feed, no matter the reason.

👉 Will have a basic understanding of Postpartum Mood Disorders & can help keep the entire family healthy by knowing when to suggest outside help.

Why is self-care for new mums so vital?

It is important to recognise that becoming a new parent is a huge life change, coping with sleep deprivation, social isolation, worry and maybe you are living far from family that would normally step in to help and support you. Many new mums experience feelings of loneliness and isolation. It?s important to recognise that focussing on self-care and prioritising rest is really crucial, both for your mental and physical wellbeing. Getting a professional to assist you with your baby in those first few weeks or months can be a huge help, it will allow you time to adjust to your new arrival and put your mind at ease.

If interested, please send me a PM to find out about my hourly rates. Alternatively, pass on my details to a friend or family member that you think could benefit from such support. My Instagram name is Baby Steps Sleep Training, they?ll be able to get in touch with me via DM.💫

Best wishes,

Lucia

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
