does it have to be strictly East Dulwich - if not how about Phyllis Pearsall, who lived in Court Lane Gardens and who started the A to Z. Didn't William Blake have his vision of angels at Peckham Rye, and there is a blue plaque to the actor Boris Karloff at 36 Forest hill road.

why do people think that 'interesting' facts means 'celebrity' facts.

i would think census info would provide more interesting stuff about the demographic of the area. ED has changed immensely over the past 10 years, is any of that reflected in the census data?

There are no very interesting facts about East Dulwich it was largely farmland until the late 19th century, has had a couple of famous authors and a horror film star born/live locally and now has a smaterring of tv actors and a few comics...it has very little of architechtural merit and is mentioned in a jeeves novel (the mention hinting at the awful drab surburban nature of it). Doesn't mean I don't like it but it's hardly Greenwich...or even Deptford....or even Camberwell for historical/literary merit is it?

    • A quick assessment on having a barter scheme amongst the community. An exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    I wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum? Or perhaps  an additional aspect of the forum itself if it was easy to include? I don’t have IT knowledge to set this up unfortunate, but I do have skills that I could offer. From past experience, it would probably work best as a direct exchange rather than coupon credit.    I may be flaunting the rules by posting on this twice, admin please feel free to delete one if this is the case.
    • Echoed. Thank you for stepping up.   whilst I’m here, I was thinking it would be a good idea to have a barter scheme amongst the community. an exchange of goods and services may be really helpful during these difficult times.    wonder if it’s something that someone would be willing to set up separately and link to the forum?
