Traffic calming in and around Dulwich!

Recommended Posts

Locked because there are a few threads already about this - Admin

Hi everyone

I I think a lot of people will think the same about what I?m going to say.

The traffic in and around Dulwich at times it?s gridlock and schools aren?t even back yet.I?m all for traffic calming cutting down on pollution etc, i really don?t think that some of the road closures are really helping, in fact I?d say the opposite it only pushes extra traffic onto neighbouring roads and consequently pushes the problem somewhere else just the other day the traffic was queueing from the picture gallery right up to East Dulwich Road and down to lordship Lane and beyond. We are only talking early afternoon-it?s crazy!

While I was in the traffic jam two ambulances on emergency calls were completely stuck and seriously delayed!

I hope the council really does look at this problem seriously and intelligently!

Yes you are right. But the anti-car brigade take the simplistic view that if nobody drove then this wouldn?t be a problem. Just don?t drive at all under any circumstance and problem solved. Simple. (Or not, but there is no point pointing out why their view is oversimplified, they will just repeat themselves ad nauseum).

I agree of course - it's been much worst since the road closures were introduced, with a short calmer period around Christmas. Last weekend was a complete nightmare with stationary traffic most of the day on LL.

Dulwich labour councillors seem to be living in some sort of parallel universe - they don't listen to the residents' concerns and they simply don't care.

PS. Did you actually mean to title this thread 'Traffic NOT calming in and around Dulwich'?

    • The end of a decade and a half of gaslighting, they must be exhausted. Oh boy, are we going to hear some coercive BS in the next 6 weeks. For some reason they don’t seem to be boasting about how well we are doing in education, crime and policing, fishing, agriculture, health, prisons, trade, trade agreements, immigration, transportation, utilities (including water), amongst other things. They seem to be focussing on exporting individual ‘illegal’ immigrants to Africa for more than it costs to take a journey into space. And rainbow-coloured lanyards for use within the civil service. I wonder why?🤔
    • If you have a campervan (windows all round, seats in) they’re treated just like cars - come unannounced as often as you need. So I think it’s a way to avoid commercial interests’ abuse of the service. Imagine if you provided a local clearance service, you could empty peoples gardens and houses and take it straight to the dump and have nothing to pay.
    • Gutted to miss out on the title in the end and fall down to fourth at the last! Thanks for running it - took me a while to get to grips with the format but came on strong in final few months. Look forward to next season!   JamesM
    • If you can access Facebook, there are many groups on there for different things. it may be helpful searching for groups on there. i joined a few groups on there myself which helped me with my health issues. it was these groups that made me realise I wasn’t the only one suffering with side effects & some women were worse off than me. hope that helps
