Child off to University this year! Any one else going through this experience?

Recommended Posts

Back in the day... in my first year at Uni, many of my fellow students would have their parents send them off with a huge supplies of essential foods - pasta, backed beans etc and would boost their supply as and when.

Sadly I can't provide much personal advice as I attended a London Uni and chose not to live on campus or anywhere else except home (mainly due to lack of funds, and didn't want to burden myself with a student loan). Deffo encourage your sprog to get an easy part time job to help when the money gets low tho. :))

Nooooo, no the medical tests.

I've a friend who's worked in the pharma industry, mostly in drug trials, for many years. He says all the good drugs are taken up in house. The ones left over for paid volunteers are referred to (quietly) as 2-headed monkey trials.

I have used his services on several occasions now and I am always impressed by 1) the speed of his response,  2) his honest pricing,  3) the quality of his interventions.  I had a washing machine crisis the other day where my old appliance started leaking badly and into the flat below.  Aria can within an hour of my call and sorted the whole thing immediately.  Impressive! Highly recommended!    Posted Thursday at 17:56 a. • Capita (always spelt in Private Eye as Crapita) has a record of failure in its management of public contracts that goes back decades. Yet they continue to get more government business and have our money lavished on them. Private profit trumps public service every time.
    • Perhaps the robbers pulled over for a Magnum? A 25-year old Ferrari is probably worth a lot less than many newer cars on the streets locally (£40k-ish, I’m guessing?). I notice the tax is up in a fortnight.
