Wasn't really sure where to post this but does anyone have an old camping stove they might have used for a kitchen cooker whilst having work done to their house?

We are going to be kitchenless for a month or so and don't really want to live on take away or cold food!

Any old stoves or better ideas greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Hello, if your intending to use a camping stove in your house you will have to get hold of a small electric one. Never ever use a camping gas stove in your house or an enclosed area! The fumes it will release are highly dangerous and in a small space could cause you to fall unconscious even kill you if your exposed to it for long enough!

We had the fridge and the washing machine in the sitting room and washed up in the bath for 4 months - that was grim!

The cooking was done in a microwave or on an induction hob that sat on top of the washing machine as I didn't want to risk a naked flame or a hot electric element in our very tight living space.

You can pay quite a bit for one but we went for this cheap-ish hob http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004BM749S/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1/278-4129225-4678057?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_r=0VY4SNZQJ6CTBWCRV6VA&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_i=B001TIPRN2 after reading the on-line reviews and were quite pleased with it

    • I'm utterly baffled as to why anybody thinks this is newsworthy, let alone worth a front page. The economy has barely grown for 20 years and the housing crisis has been worsening for a similar time period. Note to any journalists on the forum: maybe focus your headlines on important issues.

Surely; whether they are managing the property or not and with tech been so advanced I would have thought they would have been a couple of e mails sent as a reminder or, is it the Landlord’s responsibility to apply… Rental Law/ Bill has just come  into force  - can’t remember if it was this week or last and have been to busy to read..
