Anybody know what's happening to the big carwash near Sainsburys

It?s probably just closed as hand car washes are among the businesses not allowed to open under the current Covid rules

Other hand car washes have been open since the last restrictions were lifted.

The one in Nunhead is closed too. I had to brave the incredibly grumpy crowd at Chesterfield Grove last week. I wouldn't give them my business if I had a choice.

I like them there - they did a great job cleaning mine after months of lockdown

There's one open in Brockley (on the main road) and another around the back of Forest hill station

My reading is that non-automatic car washes were specified as restricted businesses only in the Step 1 specification of the main regulations SI 2021/364. And on 12 April we moved into Step 2. A trade association, https://www.ukpra.co.uk/en/the-car-wash-association, seems to agree. I suppose it might be that the proprietor, or maybe their landlords (who would they be?), are wanting to avoid any risk of the business not being run in a Covid-safe way -- that requirement remains. Or some totally unrelated reason.
