I would have thought this question has been asked so many times but I can't find the answer on the EDF search engine. Please could someone recommend a nanny agency in the SE23 area? I know it can be better to do it yourself on the forum and other places but I am struggling with finding the time to put into that. So if anyone has had a good experience of a nanny agency in SE23, please please let me know.

Many thanks.

Hi there,

I'm a local nanny and I'm free for March. My email address is [email protected] or telephone number is 07557406551.

I have 8 years experience and I'm First aid and CRB checked.

Please email me and I can send my CV and references.

Regards,

Rebecca Heavey

Hi

I used Tinies, which is an agency based in Bromley, but they cover South East London (I'm based in Sidcup now which is where I've got my nanny for) The reason I used the agency was because we were moving to an area where I didn't know anyone so couldn't rely on recommendation, plus we were leaving a really good nanny behind in dulwich so I wanted someone good. The first nanny they sent to me to interview was perfect, we just clicked, and we are happy with her 5 months on.

It is an expensive option (4 weeks nanny pay)was the fee we had to pay, but after having a couple of bad nannies, before our good one in dulwich, I wanted to find someone I could trust.

We have now hired two nannies (our first moved abroad) through SimplyChildcare and thought there were outstanding candidates both times. We have felt very lucky with both of our nannies, who are very experienced and amazing with the children. Each time we chose to interview about 4-5 people. You can view people's profiles for free on the site and then have to pay about ?30 (for the year I think) if you want to actually contact any of them.
  • 1 month later...

We would be happy to help and we have a half price offer at present - plus we only charge a fixed fee as opposed to a percentage of the nanny's salary, which makes it an affordable service for families :)

    • Every year council workers come round and remove "weeds" from pavements. These "weeds" are wild flowers which as well as brightening up the urban environment attract pollinating insects including bees. Can someone explain to me what is the purpose of this removal? The plants do not seem to be causing any kind of obstruction to pedestrians, and they make my walks around the area more pleasant. Or had done. It seems a bit odd that on the one hand the council are deliberately planting areas of wild flowers (eg on Goose Green, albeit not apparently maintaining them very well) and/or apparently letting previously cultivated areas go wild (eg on Goose Green roundabout) but on the other hand they are paying employees to come round and remove wild flowers. Why? Am I missing something here? I came out the other day to find a small pile of flowering  Toadflax and Alkanet outside my house. I was totally bemused until a neighbour told me the reason.
