Alleyn's jr school waiting list

I'm thinking this most likely means no place. Any experience to back that up or to the contrary appreciated. If you got a place, when?

The school gives out v little information about the list.

Our letter arrived on Thursday, same for a friend.

Perhaps I wasn't clear....We also got a letter on Thursday saying our child is on the waiting list ie if a place comes up will get it. I'm wondering what the likelihood of getting a place is. Has anyone been in this position and did they eventually get a place or not?

Will depend if others have applied for multiple schools and which is their preferred choice if get offered more than one place.

Hi KBN, I've got a friend who was 5th on waiting list and son was given a place in the July. I'm not sure how they found out 5th and I just tried to phone and have left a message. When I get more info I'll let you know.

Surely they should tell you where you are on the list so you can plan accordingly! It's really wrong if they don't!

No they won't tell you- just ask you not to phone to try to find out....

For girls, would imagine there will be considerable overlap between JAPS and Alleyn's so once the returns are received by Wednesday the schools can let families on the waiting list know.

I think if you are high on the waiting list (first 5 or so) you have a good chance of a place. I think by mid-end of next week it would be reasonable to speak to the school and ask about your place on the list. Let people have enough time to start turning down their places
