Hi,

If you don't have any luck finding a

dinosaur mould you can either find a

good image on the computer, make a template

then cut round the template after baking

a rectangle cake. You could make cake pops

with the cut offs.

Easier still-

I regularly make small templates

then cut round sugarpaste to make animals

and characters. See example in the attached

picture of a Peppa Pig I made for my friends

little one.

Good luck !!

I was going to try this :

http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/rex-the-dinosaur-cake/3134d1ed-d6a5-4cd9-9689-44868901548a

There is a template to print out also and a YouTube video. I don't think you need to use Betty Crocker cake mix... I was contemplating just buying sponges from the supermarket to cut out!

Those Dinopit ones are something else!!! Look more like film extras than cake.

Try Googling dinosaur cakes for ideas - there's usually lots of photos to get ideas from and folk saying how they did theirs. More Betty Crocker style than Dinopit usually.

Another option too is that I understand you can always get cake toppers which are pictures printed on icing that you can put on a normal cake.

All depends how much effort you want to put in.

    • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
    • It's Inner London. You could move somewhere else?
    • They are people.  That's how people often behave.
    • Same reason there are several pizza places and Indian restaurants?
