Cat sitter recommendations needed

Hi everyone,

We are new to the area and have a requirement to find a cat sitter for our 13 year old diabetic cat. We have a family party which will take us away for 4 days quite soon. He needs an insulin jab twice a day.

The lordship lane vets offer a service, but the person responsible has been off ill for days, sp we have been unable to talk to her.

We contacted cat calls but our cats medication time clashed with her other clients.

Does anyone have any recommendations? We'd really appreciate it.

We are in the lordship lane area of ed.

Thanks

Fiona

Hi Fiona,

You may very well have found someone. Just in case you haven't -- I provide cat sitting, dog walking, animal feeding services around London from time to time. I am based in East Dulwich just near Lordship Lane. Drop me a line if you are still interested - we are pet owners ourselves, including a cat so certainly understand the responsibility of having to arrange that they are cared for whilst you are gone. You can email me at [email protected] -- Best wishes, Marius

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
