PCR Home Kit Results - Delay?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone experienced a delay in receiving their results from a home kit?

We posted ours via the priority mailbox on Lordship Lane on Tuesday, however yet to receive any result via e-mail or text - we have spoke with 119 who have confirmed we registered our tests but they cannot confirm if they have received them as there's no result to give.

People we know have received their results for home tests within 48 hours but ours is now pushing 96 hours.

Similar issue for us too. I had a test last week and got my results 36 hours later. But my boyfriend sent a test off on Thursday and still hasn?t heard anything back. Did you track using the Royal Mail barcode that came with the kit? That?s showed that his test was delivered on the Thursday night, so the delays must be with the lab testing.

Same for me. I posted the test on Wednesday afternoon and tracked its delivery. It arrived at lab on Wednesday night. I then did not get my test result till Sunday morning. It was a long time to wait, and I was convinced that something had gone wrong, so I went along to a test site on Saturday afternoon (3pm). I received result from that test the next day at 5pm.

I recommend everyone go to a test site rather than use the at home kit. Test site was completely empty, and I was able to book a time straight away. Quick result was worth effort to travel (had to walk as not allowed public transport and no car!)

Our son had a test this week as a schoolmate was tested positive, the test was mis-delivered and when we called to get another they said there were none available in the country to post and nowhere in the south east to get a walk in as they were all out too. She said they were overwhelmed by the amount of testing going on and it's as bad as January so I assume the labs are all on backlog.

Did you believe her? I understood there are several options to test in Southwark, at least according to the council email a few days ago. It says you can get tested whether Yiu have symptoms or not but I think you go to different places depending on circumstances.
