Hello

My friend is looking for an English tutor / teacher who can help her with her English. She would be interested in 1 ? to 2hrs (max) on a weekly basis. She works shifts but would be able to arrange regular lessons but if you could be a little bit flexible that would be great. She is happy to meet in a coffee shop, come to yours or study at hers.

All material, text books etc. must be provided.

Please feel free to email me if you would be interested, a bit about yourself (teaching skills) ,your rate and contact details. (Please note it would be for 4-5 months or longer if needed)

Many thanks

Kat

Hello, My name is Fiona. I am a teacher of English and French. I have trained as a secondary level teacher and also have a TEFL certificate in teaching English to foreigners. Can I ask where your friend is from and what age range they are in to give me an idea of what they might need.

I have given a lot of private tuition over the past 15 years both English and French to all ages, secondary school and adults and I really enjoy it. I am very patient and friendly and know that language learning can be hard. I recently tried to learn Brazilian Portuguese and I remembered how frustrating it can be!

My rate would normally be ?20-?25 per hour but I could be more flexible according to their budget as it is a longer term commitment. I have plenty of books and teaching materials. Normally I have a first meeting for free with people just to have a chat and see what areas they want to work on.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions or would like a chat.

Thanks,

Fiona

Hello Kat,

I'm an English language teacher and teach part time ESOL at Lambeth College. I have a first class English degree, an MA in 20th century Lit and a CELTA qualification. I'm currently teaching absolute beginners but have taught English for academic purposes privately and can adapt to any level. I live in Herne Hill and can be quite flexible in terms of time and budget. PM me for further details.

Hi Kat,

I am an English tutor with a Masters Degree in teaching English as a Foreign Language and 20 years' experience of teaching both at home and abroad to all ages and abilities. I have taught English to waiters and chefs in hotels, top executives in large corporations, university students and school children to name a few types.

I am a keen language learner myself and speak Spanish and German. I have done a lot of 1-1 teaching which is a very flexible as I can adapt my materials to your friend's needs. I charge ?25-?30 an hour but will offer a discounted rate for advanced bookings.

I always meet first without charge to discuss what the student wants from the classes and when to hold them. I would be delighted to meet your friend. Which country is she from?

Best,

Alison

    • Many of you will recall my previous posts seeking recommendation of local eateries for a family meal. Having vegetarians, those who cannot take dairy products or  are gluten intolerant  we  were looking at a menu which could accommodate everyone's requirements. Having been to Love Dulwich twice in t he past for lunch, we went again and discovered that we could reserve for 10 people (would have been 12 ). I am pleased to say Love Dulwich did not disappoint - a wide choice, beautifully cooked and presented, adults and kids loved the food. We booked for 7 pm and were surprised at the number of people already dining there, with several more coming through the evening. Service was good and coped well with multiple orders. Well recommended.
    • I swerved Megan’s.  I miss Romeo Jones and the charming friendly owner.
    • This leaflet has the tone of a social media post emanating from Mar-a-Largo at 2am. The Lib Dems adopting the vernacular of the far right. Truly shameful.  What constitutes a RADICAL MARXIST? Is that distinct from a moderate marxist (lower case)? Cultural Marxist is used in right-wing circles as code to disparage Jews. So, exactly what is a RADICAL MARXIST, Lib Dems? Perhaps James Barber could pop like a low-rent (but equally annoying) Microsoft paperclip to explain: “Hi, looks like you’re thinking of voting for a Marxist…”
    • lol! The Greens have picked up a bunch of support into the last few months precisely because they have gone much further to the left. If you wanted a leaflet that made disaffected Labour voters aware that there was a leftist alternative to Labour in Dulwich, and to reassure mainstream Labour voters feel like the Corbynite fringe was fucking off at long last, then this is what it would look like.  Meanwhile the Lib Dems' solution to SEND and social care funding crises, a failure to build any private or social housing, climate change and all the rest is..."community wardens". 🤣 They really seem to be out of tune with the state of the country at the moment: it's crazy that they could have observed the comms failure of Starmer's incremental managerialism and thought to themselves, "you know what people want? More of that attitude, but with even less impact".
