She was a successful Spice Girl before she was Mrs David Beckham. She now has two successful fashion labels and her fashion collections have won critical acclaim (in spite of massive cynicism when she announced her intention to become a designer). The BBC didn't describe her as a singer, and in fairness to her, neither does she.

So I'd suggest, Mick and Jeremy, your sneering seems is born of wilful ignorance. I know fashion's not really your bag, but sheesh, this kind of snobbery really gets on my tits.

I did not say she wasn't sucessful, but I don't think it would be controversial to doubt her musical talent during her time with the Spice Girls. Did she write anything? Did she sing the lead on any of the songs? Was she even audible on any of the singles? I seem to remember she just strutted around and pulled faces.

You're right fashion isn't my bag, but I know it's a very tough industry. I'd have respect for any designer who has gone through the training, worked their way through the industry, and achieved success through talent and determination. That doesn't really apply to VB though.
