Gardenia Gardens has been established for 20 years, working primarily in the south east of London in Dulwich, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Nunhead, Peckham, Herne Hill, and Brockley.

Helen Robson, founder of Gardenia Gardens, studied Landscape and Amenity Horticulture at Hadlow College, in Kent, specialising in Garden Design. She passed with distinction.

Steve Robson studied hard landscaping at Plumpton College in East Sussex, specialising in timber structures.

I have just had my front and back garden done by Helen and Steve. They did a fantastic job at a good price and were very efficient, reliable and patient. Helen is knowledgeable, organised and has good ideas. I was not really sure what I wanted and Helen helped me decide, showing me other similar gardens and going with me to pick plants. Steve built a good looking and sturdy front fence/gates and went out of his way to help us get the finish we wanted, finding someone to make and fit the right post tops for us. I have been using them for the past 3 years for initially a big transformation job on our garden and also small continual maintenance jobs and can't recommend them more highly.

My mother has just moved and has had to totally restart the garden from scratch as it hadn't been touched for 50 years. Helen and Steve showed her their vision and have literally transformed it into the most beautiful garden that is manageable for her but also suitable for her 6 grandchildren to run amuck.

We knew that our garden was a mess, but had little idea how to sort it out. Helen was helpful friendly and knowledgeable - she sketched a picture of how the garden could look; talked us through every stage; provided accurate cost estimates; and ultimately has transformed our garden ready for the spring (if ever it comes!!)

Helen and Steve did some work for me last year, clearing the garden and working through ideas on planting design, choosing plants and giving general garden maintenance advice & tips. They got stuck into the job and started and finished it in a timely fashion and I was very happy with the outcome and their friendly and helpful approach.

If anyone is looking for a good landscape gardening company, I can't recommend Gardenia Gardens highly enough. Helen and Steve are genuinely lovely people who are fun to have around as well as being completely trustworthy. They have landscaped our formerly tatty garden in East Dulwich over a period of three years, tackling it one area at a time, including extensive replanting and two timber structures, and it is now looking beautiful and gives us enormous enjoyment. I'd just like to second this recommendation for Helen and Steve. Our garden is not huge but required some major work to put it into a useable condition. Helen drew up some great plans to maximise the space and the work was completed quickly with plenty of consultation throughout on both the timber work (decking and a lovely seating area) and the planting of the beds. We have very much enjoyed the garden since it was completed and Helen has kindly offered to do some tidying up for us, given our lack of gardening skills!

A third recommendation for Gardenia Gardens. Helen, Steve and their excellent team have just finished our garden here in SE5/SE15 borders. Our previous garden was just awful - a complete mess, badly laid out, and not inviting at all. Previously we had spoken to a number of locally based designers and landscapers who turned out either to be unreliable, or rather sniffy about redesigning a smallish garden for a London terraced house.

Gardenia on the other hand were fantastic from the start. We got them in initially to fix our fence after the storms late last year (via the EDF), and decided then and there that they were a team we wanted to help us with our new garden.

Helen devised a clever new layout and planting scheme, and Steve and his team have constructed fantastic timber fencing, raised borders - and a beautiful paved area. We are over the moon with our new garden - it complements our house, and us as a family, beautifully. Hoping to use Gardenia too on an ongoing basis for annual maintenance, as Helen's knowledge of plants is superb.

It was a pleasure to have them working here - they are diligent, friendly, tidy and incredibly kind and considerate - we missed them when they left.

We've just had some more work done on our garden by Helen and Steve Robson (Gardenia Gardens)as we needed some fencing replaced after this winter's gales. I really can't recommend them highly enough. They are friendly, fun, honest, hard-working and fantastically good at what they do. They have tackled our formerly dilapidated garden one area at a time, and Helen's expertise and knowledge means that we now have three different 'areas' full of beautiful combinations of plants and with a lovely wooden arch which Steve has built leading into a separate landscaped gravelled area, where I can read the paper and escape from the rest of my family.

We had a barbeque last summer and received lots of compliments about our lovely garden, which is entirely, I have to say, due to Helen and Steve, as are complete gardening amateurs, but although Helen is teaching me, bit by bit, I have no desire to take it over completely, as they are so nice to have around. I think the pictures speak for themselves, but in case they don't, she did an amazing job, was value for money, efficient, knowledgeable about planting as well as design, and friendly. Helen knew exactly what I wanted and Steve and the team were not only a pleasure to have around but totally transformed our wreck of a garden. They were also the only people who we got a quote from who really understood that we had a tight budget and did their very best to stick to it. They also had to deal with a toddler and a dog and could not have been more accommodating!

We have a small garden but it was a challenging project- overgrown with ivy from the nearby rail tracks, a horrible old outhouse from the 1960s and fencing and patio all needing to be redone. Helen was professional, friendly and polite and provided a quote which included costs for materials and labour. There were no hidden extras.?Helen and Steve and their team were excellent. They are very knowledgable and gave us suggestions for planting and layout which all now look great. The project finished on time and came in on budget. Would not hesitate to use them again.

They have done a lot of work for us over the years. Most recently they have replaced our fencing in the back garden after it was blown down. They worked so hard and made such an effort not to damage any plants in the flower beds. We got quite a few quotes however they were the most reasonable.

They have also built us raised flower beds and a decking area and Helen is amazing at helping me choose plants right for our space and sun situation.

Wanted to add my voice to the glowing recommendations for Gardenia!

The team were lovely to have around (even at stupid o'clock in the morning!) and they were very respectful and careful of our home. Especially since all of the building materials and waste had to be moved through our living room and kitchen. - there was a lot of this as we had our fence, shed, decking and subframe completely replaced! From our first meeting with Helen and Steve, their knowledge and experience were reassuring, and it was obvious throughout that the project was 100% under control and would be delivered in time.

Our garden has become the best room in our house now and we love it and are outside all the time. And our 3 year old still asks after them!

Hi all just wanted to highly recommend Helen & Steve at Gardenia for any gardening work. We had a pretty standard uninspiring garden and they've turned it into something we love spending time in (especially as I am due a baby any day now).
