Hi There,

Please let me know if anyone is interested to do squash on a regular basis at Hamlets Health Club(SE22 8BD, near East Dulwich train station), may be thrice a week or whatever suits you.

I am not any pro, just started squashing for a year and half.

Please let me know.

I would offer, Tushar, but I already play a few people regularly. There's a league you can join at Hamlets. There are also much better courts at Crystal Palace Sports Centre and I think they have a league too. Also membership clubs Sydenham Tennis, Squash and Croquet Club (reasonable) and Dulwich Squash Club (more expensive).

I was thinking of gauging interest in perhaps setting up a one off round robin mini squash tourney at Hamlets. Maybe a Saturday afo, everybody gets a couple of games then a couple of pints in the bar after. I play most Thursdays at Hamlets. Courts not brilliant but handy it's just a pay and play facility.

Anybody fancy it? All welcome, obviously.

All - i never did get round to sorting anything out. Interest wasnt there at the time and i had jiggered my back. I'd reckon we would need a minimum of 4.

Everybody gets 2 games - maybe best of 3. Would need to book 2 courts consecutively I guess. Work out a fiver each and then a couple shandies after.

Worth having a go? Perhaps PM me - getting a time and date be the problem. Saurday mornings from 11.00am best for me.

Cheers

Hi All,

Long shot I know, but does anyone fancy playing squash at Hamlets tonight (Friday 1st Aug) or tomorrow (Sat 2nd Aug)? Providing we can get a course of course. I've been playing about 18 months but usually always with the same friend at Hamlets.

Thanks,

Jack

Hi All,

I play occasionally at Hamlets with some mates on a Friday night so might be good to combine resources, as they are unreliable :0)

I just tried ringing the club but got no answer, and wondered if you have managed to book courts etc under new ownership?

If you can get a court tonight myself and a mate will play. My number is 07970 707995

They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
    • Let’s not all get scared of the foxes now. Most likely explanation is protecting its den or association with food. We have foxes, and cats and they are no bother to each other. The fox will leave when the cats are out.
    • I remember seeing something a few years ago on TV about a fox that was actually biting through people's shopping / takeaway food bags.  It was situated in an alleyway.  Not in London.  Very interesting in how the  urban foxes brain development has  been affected by their surroundings.   Not an exact quote from Darwin.  It's the adaptable that survive / not the strongest or the most intelligent.   I would be worried if a fox came close me.   Because they might be after my fur babies and they carry a lot of nasties.   Although they look beautiful from a distance or on a 🎄 card.
