Did anyone go to Chener books on Sunday for the comic sale? Couldn't go myself but heard Ray Parks was the there (Star Wars character 'Darth Maul' for non-fans). Any feedback..?

I'm with Dulwich Dental Clinic by the post office, on the lane. Haven't had to go for a while but they have been superb in the past when I have needed them quickly. Dr. Tremaine in particular is a terrific bloke. Regarding the King's dental hosp, they don't do walk ins any more, you do have to be referred through 111 sadly. Lots of people in the same boat, hope it gets better

still here, for now. Where is ????s? They used to be prolific on here.

Extinction Rebellion to camp on Peckham Rye park for 2 weeks
holloway replied to MrsR's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If the council were informed that that XR planned to set up camp aren't they obliged to stop them? Am I missing something? -

Have you seen 'The Sixth Sense' with Bruce Willis? He's a ghost throughout the whole film.

Price of a pint of Beer in the Lane

Pool table in the Castle is unlikely to come back, was the source of a lot of trouble apparently. Agree with other posts, it's a nice pub and if you go between 5 & 6 pm you can enjoy happy hour in which most prices are reduced, Guinness is ?3.50! back to ?4.50 afterwards, but still reasonable. -
I only recently found out that COP stands for 'conference of parties' and that there have been 25 previous ones. I can't recall such coverage of those. Call me cynical but I don't know this one is being whipped up by the media, we've known about climate change for some time now. I can't honestly see big polluters as China & Russia changing their ways.

I watched that film, I thought Sir Ian McKellen looked like a Cocker spaniel. Not a terrible film.

I've had issues with the Barclay's ATM, specifically the lower down one one on the corner. On two occasions it retained my card, luckily I got it back each time and no dodgy transaction were noted afterwards. Suffice to say I don't use either of them anymore. Completely agree with shuntman in using the ATM inside the banks however regarding point number two, if I saw anything attached to an ATM I've been told not to remove it as it may be being watched, would report it to staff within the bank, providing it's open...

A few drunk loutish England fans let the side down on Lordship Lane
holloway replied to IlonaM's topic in The Lounge
I passed through Trafalgar Square on Sunday at around 3 pm and the atmosphere was not pleasant. Overwhelmingly menacing and like a powder keg. I would never have watched the game around there. -
Pretty sure EDT was not always antic, I remember Ray telling me about the take over. Seemed a sound guy, wouldn't take any notice of rumours
-
TGE is alright, staff are quite nice which is important. Ray ran a good pub when in charge of the EDT, always a cracking atmosphere when big football games were on. Think he got badly treated when antic took over.
-
I moved to ED in 2007, just after this poll. Where was the Drum? EDT was my favourite pub when Ray was manager.

Most quiet on the whole forum, peculiar...

European Super League - the case for (not against)
holloway replied to malumbu's topic in The Lounge
ESL organisers have said that the teams involved would still be part of their domestic leagues. Obviously the reason against the ESL relates to how seriously would our six teams take PL games on Saturday if they were playing a top European team on the following Wednesday? The PL would also be forced to make major re-scheduling arrangements. This is terrible. -
Back scratching and dodgy dealings have and will always go on in government sadly, but this greenshill affair is particularly mind-blowing. Cameron allowed a private company access to Downing street when PM and has recently lobbied the chancellor on this company's behalf for financial aid. Rotten to the core

LL pub with Elizabeth Taylor & Sean Connery toilet signs?
holloway replied to DaleIvy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The actress for sure. Connery wearing diving gear. -
They were setting up this morning, didn?t realise they were still there. Great to see the doors open. Might go and have a cheeky, socially distanced wander...

Happy St. Patricks's day to all! Hope everyone OK.
