  1. I never mentioned 'indefinite immunity'. If you are infected with a virus/bacteria and recover, circulating antibodies produced in response, that are specific to that strain of virus/bacteria, will prevent re-infection. If the virus or bacteria mutate, as influenza viruses do, then new strains are created and cause infection.
  2. Infection with the coronavirus will indeed generate immunity to at least the particular strain of the virus the individual has been infected with. The more people who become immune to it will generate herd immunity. Vaccination works this way too but is obviously a safer way of achieving herd immunity. Exposure to the coronavirus as 'the answer to immunity' is controversial as infection can result in death even in apparently young, fit healthy people. Give me a vaccine for a bacteria or virus anyday.
  3. If this isn?t nipped in the bud things will get worse and worse. East Dulwich and it?s residents, will be seen as a soft touch.
  4. Heartily recommend this recipe... https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/vegetables-recipes/butternut-squash-muffins-with-a-frosty-top/
  5. I think those running too close to other people may well be rookie-joggers. I've noticed an increase amount of joggers lately, perhaps due to the fact that there isn't much else to do when the sun is out.
  6. I fancy going jogging. am I going to get a rollocking if go around dulwich park a few times? i'll be by myself and intend to keep a suitable distance from other park users.
  7. I think Mourinho simply wanted to return to football in London. This is not about Spurs at all. In a past interview he's mentioned his admiration for London in contrast to Manchester. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he was also in contact with Arsenal who decided to stick with Emery. Wisely? Not sure. I don't dislike Mourinho.
  8. what exactly happened in camberwell last night? seemed like a big incident but nothing on news sites.
  9. Curry sauce is massive in Ireland, it's where I first encountered the phenomenon. Emily's on North Cross is probably the best in Dulwich, I do find the bloke a bit too chatty though.
  10. Cheers guys
  11. The volume on my TV inexplicably keeps going down of its own accord. It's driving me nuts. Before I resign myself to buying a new one I was wondering if anyone knows of someone appliance minded who might resolve this. Bit of a long shot I realize. Might just be a problem with the remote. Cheers anyway.
  12. That machine took my card just before Christmas last year, was distraught even though I had a bit of ready money at home. Interestingly though I went to the big Barclay's branch in Piccadilly Circus, and they gave me a new card there and then. Was in and out in about 25 minutes.
  13. care to elaborate? gazumping? spiritual??
  14. Danny baker is a big football fan and would be acutely aware of the recent monkey chant abuse received by black football players. He must surely have known what the response to his tweet would have been. I find it genuinely shocking
  15. Hi Annie5, not quite a beginner's in the sense that you're gently eased in to it. A taster session is just a freebie. I've now signed up for a month. Give it a go! I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I do.
  16. Just had my free taster session, really enjoyed it! It was quite intense. There was about 15 of us, of all different fitness levels, everyone was great. This is recommended.
  17. Just wondered if anyone has tried this and would recommend it. I was thinking of doing a free trial session in Peckham Rye.
  18. Does anyone know what happened to this place? Looked really good when it opened. It's always been closed when I go by now though.
  19. 'Dulwich Dental Clinic' for me. These guys are fantastic, Dr. Tremaine in particular. I had a check up, clean & polish and a filling for ?60.
  20. This scam used to go on all of the time in pubs, haven't seen it for ages. The parents' would usually send them in.
  21. There has been a bat walk in Ruskin Park at the end of August for the past few years. They're so much fun! Highly recommended for all ages.
  22. Can't believe I've just read that John Kennedy from Chener books has died. Really devastated, he was a great guy. Thoroughly enjoyed talking to him when I popped in. Will be very sadly missed.
  23. Day length in summer is shorter than day length in winter, an average day length over 365 days is what Grenwich Mean Time (GMT) refers to. A brilliant way to enjoy a hot summer day is to visit the Grenwich Royal Observatory, thoroughly recommended.

    Flush Lush

Just walking past the Oxford Street branch gives me a headache from the fumes, I don't know how the staff cope.
  25. Nine years for me! Not the most active poster but agree with all the comments, it's a cracking forum and long may it continue. Good job Admin for maintaining it. Where is '????' incidentally?
