  1. I did a little bit of voluntary work for Crisis at Christmas this year and thought it was one the best things I have ever done. Strongly recommended to all. As resolutions go I wouldn't mind doing at bit more of this. Other than that, the usual, get fitter, learn a language/instrument... Happy New Year forumites
  2. i know the bloke you're on about, not personally, but see him often walking up to the designated dog park in st.francis' park. it's a beautiful dog, didn't know it shat everywhere though.
  3. he was actualy a nice bloke as were the other lads, you're right. just found the whole thing a bit too intimate, prefer boxing now.
  4. i did a mixed martial arts class at dulwich hamlet a while back. found myself in the missionary position with a bloke who had 'love' and 'hate' tatooed on his knuckles. didn't go back.
  5. Merry Christmas everyone!! Here's to 2015. Thing's during which I'm particularly looking forward to are... the ED cinema and the new star wars film (a long way off I know but still). Have a wonderful day East Dulwich.
  6. rannaghor looks well dodgy, tandoori nights or dulwich tandoori every time for me. back to the xmas tv, i heard earlier this year there was going to be a tv adaption of 'jonathan strange and mr. norrell' but can't see it listed anywhere. was looking forward to this as it's a superb book. recommended (unlike rannaghor).
  7. i'm working on the 25th at king's college hosp, get a free lunch though...
  8. i'm doing a bit of voluntary work for 'crisis at christmas', although would be interested to know where you're helping out locally though robert poste's child. am happy to lend a hand...

    SPOTY 2014

ah, nigel mansell (looks wilfully into the distance...) or 'il lione' (the lion) as he was known in italy.

    SPOTY 2014

it was given to rooney ffs. nuff said.
  11. russell brand got toasted on question time. there was obviously a large ukip following in the audience though. think his heart is in the right place though...
  12. I had a wander along regent's street a while back when it was pedestrianized one sunday. it was a fantastic experience to stroll along at leisure, and eerily quiet too. am in favour.
  13. I gladly filled in the questionnaire in support of an extension via Camberwell and I've now just received a follow up email requesting me to fill in the answers to 3 further questions; what is my email address, my post code and my name?? surely they obviously have my email address... and as for name and post code, just wondering why they want those? careful market research or me being paranoid?
  14. the comedienne Josie long said she performed her first stand up gig in a pub in Dulwich, in today's metro. that would have been 1998. probably EDT??
  15. Perhaps too soon? Cracking article from bbc sport about the death of sportsmen/women, see link below. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/30236817

    Black Friday

I'd never even heard of black friday. Just wait till cyber monday though...
  17. once you've been in one antic pub, you've been in them all. the faux distressed look can grate a bit i think. agree with bovine juice though, penge is the place to be.
  18. harry enfield parodied tv doctors of the hilary jones ilk, with a character called dr. boyish-good looks. wish i could post a youtube link but i can't.
  19. hi rutolhed, have only just seen your post as I've sat down with one eye on match of the day and the other on the comp! what you saw might have been a mobile mri or x-ray facility. the nhs sends them out to places where people can't get out and about easily i.e nursing homes and prisons. hope this answers your question.
  20. title says it all really, although this was yesterday. couldn't post till today. really good piece though. didn't realise nearly 3000 people turned for the non-league day earlier in September. anyone else read it??
  21. the tories could always be accused of adopting a 'born to rule' attitude, however that accusation could just as easily be laid at miliband (whichever one). i have no problem with ed coming from a political background but i can just imagine miliband as a smug 10-year old assuming one day he will be prime minister. no one in british politics right now enthuses me at all although i agree with whoever said alan johnson was missed.
  22. Agreed, although at least it was a pub. Unbelievable to think that's it for the village. There is nowhere to nip for a quick pint...
  23. This thread reminds me of my work experience in a shop in kentish town, selling drum kits. Thought it was going to be great, turned out to be appaling. The full timers were complete twats. In hindsight I realise they were just bitter about not quite making it as musicians.
