Interflora or <insert as appropriate> ?

Here's what I have done instead of paying the extra money for Interflora. I can't afford flowers much but on special occasion I thought I would do this.

Google to find the nearest flower shop to the person you want to receive them.

(Google Earth to see if they look like a nice shop if necessary!)

Phone the shop and ask for a delivery and pay them straight into their bank account.

It's worked for me!

Definitely this!

Seasonal flowers, either as a bouquet or a box of cut flowers (not as pretty when they , but a small box has lots of flowers). Long lasting and fresh.

Grown in England, so fewer flower miles. And excellent customer services (when I messed up the order first time round).

I go with the PR plan - find someone local to the receiver. Essentially your local Interflora florist just sends the order to them anyway and takes what? 15-20%? Remove them from the equation and it can go into the actual flowers. I've done this for orders both UK and internationally.

Given how easy that is to do these days I'd say Interflora's day's are numbered..

    • It’s even worse this weekend, the bass is unbearable.    The fact SE22 is getting upset about something in an entirely different Borough probably suggests how bloody loud it is that we can still hear it from here!? It must be awful for those living right next to it as I feel stressed enough from half an hour away. I don’t see any benefit to the local community, it blocks off our green spaces, makes it deeply unpleasant to be at home every weekend, and most attending will be from outside of the area. I also wonder if these events are the reason there are so many dead fish currently bobbing around the lake in brockwell park? Pretty miserable for the local wildlife too.
