Hello, the Horniman Tesco has fuel this morning, long queue down towards Lordship Lane. Nothing at the BP on Stanstead Road. The BP on Kirkdale has fuel, queue stretches back towards Sydenham Hill, moves quite quickly and they were marshalling it all in an orderly fashion!

Asda on the Old Kent Road had petrol and diesel earlier - queuing time about 5 minutes

Sky News saying there's hardly any fuel in South London - which is contradicted by above posts- but that's 24 hour news.

If this was just panic buying it would have resolved now so there is a real issue.

Petrol Retailers Association reports better Nationwide availability but not London. I'd always go to the BBC for my news (heard it on Radio 4) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/58772169

I'd only queue if I was desperate but fortunately all my journeys at the moment can be done by public transport, bike or foot. Weather will be improving I'm pleased to say!

I've put down thoughts on government messaging on the Lounge - including what I feel is poor levels of information. This should have burned itself out by now - why not??

Presumably, people are still buying more fuel than they need 🤷

Or with many petrol garages being shut down and having flats built on the site there are not enough garages to fulfill the area need.

There are plenty of garages, just not enough storage to cope with a short term surge in demand/ short term supply issues.

The large reduction in filling stations is simply economic, you really need to be part of a supermarket or have mini mart attached, otherwise you cannot compete in a cut throat market, particularly when your land is worth far more for housing or even as a car wash.

I could say the same about timber merchants, having seen so many go in recent years.

On wider matters don't think that the PM was very reassuring today. I'll post more on the lounge

Applegreen petrol station on Camberwell had fuel today at 2:30pm. Limit of ?30 per vehicle.

Got some at Morrisons early this morning. Not all pumps were working. Also looked like there was some at the Esso on East Dulwich Road.

Esso on edr half of pumps working both fuels minimum purchase is ?30 maximum ?45 .I asked the fella inside about the money limits, he said its to deter people who are topping up their tanks is ?5 ?10 ?15 and making the queues longer for motorists who might need fuel more .I said put a sign up outside stating the limits so people know..you've got small notes on the pumps telling people.you can't see these from outside so motorist will still queue.could cause a problem for some .

Finally ventured out to fill up.... no queues or limits at morrisons Peckham and Esso on East Dulwich Road was also open with what looked like minimal wait (not all pumps open though)
