Oh well someone decided to lob a hand sized lump of concrete through the front

bedroom window at our house on Ashbourne grove last night.

Luckily my 78 yr old mother in law wasn?t sleeping in there last night.

We were watching TV downstairs & the noise made us Jump out of our skins.

Was witnessed by a neighbour who shouted after them.

We have no idea why, we are on good terms with all our neighbours.

Might be wrong address, or someone doesn?t like a gay couple living here (tho we have never experienced any sort of homophobia around here before) .

So if anyone spotted a youth with green track suit bottoms on who ran off towards Melbourne at around 11pm, get in touch.

We spoke to police who gave us a crime number & said to report if anything else happens.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
