Has anyone got experience of divorce ?

This sounds like a very silly question. I have finally come to the conclusion that I want a divorce, my husband is not of same view but I doubt would contest. There are circumstances which mean I don't think I would have to wait the 2 years before doing this. How do I do this, neither of us can afford to move out and we have a young daughter. I don't want to spend a fortune on lawyers. I have no idea where to start, as I don't think my husband will believe it has to happen until I present him with papers.
