Eh?

According to the police briefing note it was an intelligence-led operation of Specialist Crime Command detectives assisted by armed officers. Crossthwaite Ave. is an exceedngly quiet street, with a few neighbourhood shops including the Bike Project. I suspect it was a good place to make the stop.
Erm, there is a primary school just a one minute walk away from Crossthwaithe Avenue? So it might be exceedingly quiet during the day (the Bike Project you seem to have called out) but any crime activity on the Denmark Hill Estate should be made known to people living in the area surely?

Crossthwaite is not exactly on the route between Croydon and Lewisham, nor any two place not on that estate... so you might wonder if they didn't have some business there, or very close by.

They did - they issued a press release that was picked up by the Standard and other local papers.
