Hi I am starting to make hair bow/clips for babies upwards and just really wanted to know what is the main thing you look for in hair bow ie. the size of the clip, if it slips or not, style and also do you prefer snap clips or alligator clips.

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks vanessa

Lovely business - I'll definitely buy from you as my daughter loves pretty clips

Definitely grip as it's so easy for it to slide out and then to lose them (the amount of money i spend on hair clips!!!)

My daughter (3) doesn't necessarily have a lot of hair but i've always found that the childs sized ones are too small so she has always had adult ones. I prefer snap clips (but i suppose that's because we haven't tried alligator clips). I love pretty ones that can match with her clothes :)

Good luck and please do keep us informed

Great Idea! My daughter has loads of hair and is just 1. I find it really hard to get clips or bobbles to stay in so that's one thing. Another would be a clip maybe with something like a bow on it that is big so she doesn't try and eat it!! Yes pretty ones that match are great but perhaps not too expensive as she loses them a lot so I wouldn't spend that much to be honest but would perhaps buy a pack of them.

Good luck.

My daughter has quite a lot of fine straight hair (she's 19 months) and alligator clips seem to stay in a lot better than the snap ones. I prefer small material covered ones and very small soft hair bands. Good luck, looking forward to seeing/buying the hair clips you make!!

Hi Ladies I've just made my first batch of hair bows in different colours and different clips.

So if your interested pls pm me an I can send you pics and prices.

I'm new to all this so pls be patient with me!

Hope to hear from some of you soon.

Thanks Vanessa

I had huge problems finding hair bands for my one year old that weren't pink, white, covered in bows, sequins or flowers. Plain cloth hair bands in funky colours or designs would be great. She was blessed with lots of hair from the start so I needed them early and most were too big?

    • Your post was an attack on the tax   I didn’t  address or mention you in my reply. Just pointed  out the problems with the article you then told be I wasn’t invited.  In no way am I bullying anyone. The reverse is true if anything
    • The problem is, I'm not sure what the going rate is for park land for festivals of this nature. I'm sure they are paying less than outfits pay for access to the big stadia - but these have better facilities and are normally better for public transport. I am also sure that Councils could press for more, and should do so, but of course there isn't really a shortage of council lands to exploit, so these entrepreneurs could go elsewhere. What I would like to know is how much of the suggested £440,000 this year for Southwark is net profit - what are their costs in getting and administering this let? If this is a gross figure then what do they actually have as 'surplus'? But at least we have a starting point now - even if it's a guess I'm thinking it's a reasonably informed one.

    • All I've done is post a link and you're straight on the attack, for heavens sake. And as sarky as ever. This isn't solely your forum and you don't rule the roost so stop trying to dictate and bully me.
