car share schemes

Can anyone recommend any car share schemes?

In particular, does anyone know of any where you can use the car to drive to a different city/town and leave there - i.e. rather than having to take the car for a whole week if you are going away.

I used ZipCar until recently when I got my own car for the first time.

It was efficient, nearly always had a vehicle when I needed one and I thought it was good value for money. I'd recommend it especially if you are only an occasional user.

I hear good things about Whip Car - you use individuals cars rather than a fleet from company.

As far as I know, none allow you to have a drop off point far away without incurring a financial penalty that makes it pointless.
