Hi everyone

I want to be able to watch catch up tv on my tv via a blu ray player. Currently I have a Sony one but only had bbc iplayer and 5od.

I need to have at least Bbc iplayer, Netflix, 4od

Love film, itv and 5od are optional

Can anyone recommend a blu ray player or similar device which will do the job? My friend has a Sony ps3 which has most of these - it's weird that other Sony blu ray players don't have the same function.

Any suggestions more than welcome

Many thanks!

Sony blu ray players do not have the processing power necessary to decode the very complicated encryption that Netflix uses in the uk apparently, hence why it is more widely available on consoles. I am in the same position as you, so if you do find a solution please keep me posted.

Just phoned John Lewis - apparently all Samsung blu ray players will have Bbc iplayer, Netflix and 4od

However, they are sold out of most devices (except for the expensive recorders) but they are bringing in new stock and releases in April/may. Other retailers are available...

X Box won't play BluRay but does the rest. Given you already have a player though it might well be the best solution.

I got one of these players recently which is brilliant, has Netflix integrated but doesn't have 4od - http://www.richersounds.com/product/1-box-home-cinema-systems/panasonic/scbtt590/pana-scbtt590

    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
