I've been with them for a few years and they're OK. Better than most and as you say, their pricing is good. Tech Support is only office hours Mon-Fri (or at least used to be) and I had a few setup hiccups but once that was resolved, I think we've had one outage in about 4 years.
Plusnet is a subsidiary of BT - there are pluses and minuses in that. Almost all terrestrial (wired) domestic broadband is supplied by BT or by the Cable Company owned (NTL) and Virgin badged cable TV services. BT is the only company required to wholesale broadband to third parties, so if it isn't badged Virgin then it is likely to be BT's underlying network - and it may be BT's or the 'service provider' providing the terminating equipment in exchanges (there are a few independent providers of networks in local (often village) schemes and new build estates etc.). The non-Virgin virtual providers in the main are distinguished by quality of customer service and price. BT (as a retail supplier) is technically dependent - as are other wholesale customers - on the independently run Openworld - owned by BT Group but operated at arms length from BT Retail. Sky is, I believe, a BT wholesale (Openworld) customer. The business market has more network providers playing in it and operates differently.

I've been with Plusnet for years (except for a brief sad experience with BT - and yes I know Plusnet is a subsidiary of them, but presumably their admin etc is separate).

I've found Plusnet reliable, and their customer service has been good whenever I've needed them.

My WiFi isn't that great, but I think they have brought out a better router, and in any case I'm not sure it's entirely the router's fault.

After years of 'nagging' by myself and our daughters, we may have cured hubby of spending £4 plus on individual cards for our immediate family  ( when you have 12 immediate family it costs a bomb) Also as the girls state, they get put in the recycling bad at beginning of January regardless of cost.
    • There was a LETS scheme in ED and it ran for a couple of years or so. Trying to remember when it was pre 2000?  A couple of friends joined it, one did baby sitting for exchange for ironing, the other did small painting jobs or simple gardening. There was a set criteria regarding credits,
